Red Light, Green Light is a free, motion-controlled running game inspired by the deadliest playground game there is. Jog in place to sprint down the field, jump the hurdles and step around the walls to cover as much ground as you can before your timer runs out. But the giant doll at the end of the field is watching — the moment she spins around and the light turns red, you have to freeze completely. Twitch, drift or take a single step and you’re eliminated.
Set your own session length — 3, 5, 7 or 10 minutes — and every red light lands at a random moment for 3 to 10 nerve-shredding seconds. Play solo to chase your best distance, or open a room and race up to eight friends down the same field with the same synchronized lights: first across the line, or the last one still standing, wins.
How Red Light, Green Light works
Your webcam reads your body in real time with on-device pose tracking — nothing is ever uploaded. On a green light, jog in place to build speed, jump to clear the hurdles, and step or lean between lanes to slip past the walls. Your pace drives your score, so the faster and further you run, the higher you climb.
Then the doll turns. A red light can strike at any moment and last anywhere from three to ten seconds, and while she’s staring you down you must hold perfectly still — the game watches for the smallest movement. Time your sprints, read her rhythm, and know when to slam on the brakes.
A tense cardio workout you play with your whole body
Because every sprint is real jogging and every dodge is a real jump or side-step, a session doubles as interval cardio — hard bursts of movement broken by the sudden, total stillness of a red light. A live calorie counter turns your body weight and movement into a running estimate of the energy you burn, so beating your distance also means a genuine sweat.
Sessions are short by design — pick 3 to 10 minutes — which makes it an easy, high-intensity way to squeeze active minutes into a break or warm-up.
Race up to 8 friends on synchronized lights
Open a room, share the code, and everyone runs the same seeded field with the exact same red and green lights at the exact same moments. Ghost runners show where your friends are on the track, players are eliminated live the instant they’re caught moving, and the winner is the first across the finish — or the last one left standing. No console, no install.
Free to play in your browser — no download, no equipment
Red Light, Green Light runs entirely in the browser on any laptop or desktop with a webcam. There’s nothing to download, no account needed to start, and no equipment beyond room to jog on the spot. It works on any modern browser and is completely free to play.
