Rune Run is a free, motion-controlled endless runner you play with nothing but a webcam. Jog in place to sprint down a winding forest path, jump barriers, duck under low beams and step between lanes to grab runes — your body is the controller, and there is no keyboard, gamepad or phone to hold.
Because every move is a real movement, every run is a real cardio session. A live calorie counter tracks the work you actually do, so a five-minute dash to beat your high score doubles as a genuine burst of exercise.
How Rune Run works
Your webcam reads your body in real time using on-device pose tracking — nothing is uploaded, and the camera feed never leaves your browser. Jog on the spot to build speed, lift your knees higher to sprint, jump to clear fire barriers and river gaps, crouch to slide under beams, and lean or step sideways to switch lanes and line up the next rune.
Runs start gentle and ramp up: the further you get, the faster the path scrolls and the tighter the obstacles come. It is easy to pick up in the first ten seconds and hard to master over a full session.
A cardio workout disguised as a game
Rune Run is built for people who want to stay healthy but find the treadmill boring. Jogging in place, jumping and ducking keep your heart rate up, and the on-screen calorie tracker turns your weight and movement into a running estimate of the energy you burn — so you can chase a personal best and a fitness goal at the same time.
Sessions are short by design, typically three to ten minutes, which makes it an easy way to squeeze active minutes into a work break, a warm-up, or a rainy day indoors.
Race friends in real time
Open a race room, share the code, and everyone runs the same seeded course at once. Ghost runners show where your friends are on the track as you sprint, so a solo cardio run becomes a live, competitive multiplayer race — no console or install required.
Free to play in your browser — no download, no equipment
Rune Run runs entirely in the browser on a laptop or desktop with a webcam. There is nothing to download, no account required to start, and no equipment beyond the space to jog on the spot. It works on any modern browser and is completely free to play.
